And speaking of Anouk, she's got a new live album coming out.

So not only is there a new single, now there's also a new concert recording available for pre-order. The album bears the title Live At Symphonica In Rosso and is a 2-CD recording of her performance in the music event Symphonica In Rosso in October, held annually in the football stadium GelreDome in Arnhem, The Netherlands, where Anouk performed collaborating with a live orchestra. The release date of the album is on March 14, and it can be pre-ordered via iTunes. The setlist includes both songs from her latest LP Sad Singalong Songs (plus the recent-ish new single "Wigger") and older hits as well.

Track list:

CD1:

"The Rules"
"The Good Life"
"Are You Lonely"
"Kill"
"Birds"
"Down & Dirty"
"Woman"
"Modern World"
"I Won't Play That Game"
"One Word"
"I'm A Cliche"

CD2:

"Pretending As Always"
"Three Days In A Row"
"If I Go"

Anouk releases new single "You & I"

Dutch alt-rock singer and nobody's wife Anouk has released a new single called "You & I". It was co-penned by a fellow Dutch, music producer and DJ Afrojack. It is her second single since the incredible Sad Singalong Songs album, being preceded by the no-nonsense "Wigger". It marks a departure from the symphonic sound of her previous record and brings back the poppier side of her - make of that what you will. There's been no news regarding a new album but considering she has indeed been writing new material, I'm sure there's plenty of more to come.

Meanwhile, here's the music video:

Review: 'Sad Singalong Songs' by Anouk

It's been raining for days. I just recently saw the first yellow leaf fall from a tree. Summer is officially over, and inevitable as it is, it's always a bit of a shock. This realisation made me look back at this year and well, it must be said that musically speaking it hasn't been a spectacular one. Fortunately we're only halfway there and there are a lot of promising albums to be released during the latter half of the year. Also, though the year has generally given little to write home about, there have been some pearls along the way and one of the most brilliant ones is Anouk's Sad Singalong Songs which makes a perfect soundtrack for your autumn.
