Time Machine

Time Machine is a segment on this blog that features memorable pop songs from the past, both well-known anthems and hidden gems. Watch this space!

The Sisters of Mercy - This Corrosion (1987)

"Hey now, hey now now - sing this corrosion to me!" "This Corrosion" by The Sisters of Mercy remains one of the most memorable goth rock classics from the '80s, and for a very good reason: it's incredibly catchy! It's got that '80s batcave feel just oozing out of it (in the best possible sense), and as I've written before, the G word is nothing to be scared of. Cast out your prejudice, give this anthem a spin, and discover how short 11 minutes can feel with a good tune.

Röyksopp feat. Robyn - The Girl And The Robot (2009)

A definitive example of Scandi-pop excellence, Röyksopp and Robyn's first collaboration "The Girl And The Robot" is one of my favourite pop singles of all time. Combining infectious hooks with Scandinavian coolness, this synth-pop masterpiece is a worthy opener for this new blog feature!
